Assuming you unzipped srp-b.zip into in its own directory, you will find the following files. |-> readme.txt (this file) |-> RS.cfg |-> emails.dat |-> domains.dat |-> refer.cgi |-> admin.cgi |-> functions.lib |-> auth.cgi If you dont have the above files, call NASA because we have a problem! No, just joking. You should unzip srp-b.zip again into its own directory and see if you you have them all now. If you still don't download it again! If you DO have the above files, which you should, follow the following steps. 1) Open RS.cfg in a straight text editor like Notepad, and edit the 8 fields. Each field has complete instructions above it. NOTE: ONLY EDIT WHATS BETWEEN THE QUOTATION MARKS. EVERYTHING ELSE NEEDS TO REMAIN THE SAME. 2) Create a directory called RS in your cgi-bin directory or any directory that allows you to run/execute cgi programs. 3) Upload all the files in ASCII MODE to the RS directory you created above. It is important that you upload them in ASCII MODE. Your FTP program is more than likely set to AUTO, just switch it. 4) You now need to chmod all .cgi files to 755 to all .dat files to 766. NOTE: Site Referral Basic requires Perl 5.0 and assumes it is located at /usr/bin/perl. If your perl is in another location (/usr/local/bin for example) you can do one of the following: *) alter the first line in all files that have a .cgi extension and change it to reflect the actual perl location. *) this method requires telenet access. locate Perl on your system by doing whereis perl create a symbolic link to your Perl executable by doing ln -s /path/to/perl /usr/bin/perl ##------------------## ## CONFIGURATION ## ##------------------## After you have completed the instalation open http://your-domain-name.com/cgi-bin/RS/admin.cgi in your browser (replace "your-domain-name.com" in the URL with the actual name of your site), enter the password you have set in RS.cfg, and you can begin setting up a referral form! ##------------------## ## CONTACT ## ##------------------## Please send comments, bug information, and new feature requests to info@sitereferralpro.com
